What ever happened to towel and suntan lotion?
Well maybe now a bottle of water too.

If you took more than a towel to the beach in high school, you were uncool.

Of course, you were walking a mile and then taking the subway, but still.

Water, chair, suntan lotion and book. What else is needed????

jawsuser wrote:Have you looked into a TTY hone for Orc? He may want to contact Helen Keller national Center. They may have resources to help. Or just go on line and look up TTY phones. Then the doctors and others would just use a relay service to talk with Orc. He could read their responses. I have answer relay operator calls back when I worked, its not a big deal.

I have also heard that there are computer programs that can translate phone calls to text. I do not have any information about them, but I have heard they exist.

He uses Hamilton, but the call through still has issues, so most people have to call leave a message (which gets forwarded to Google and they have a computer transcribe) and then he calls back using the app. It's the primary reason we bought iphones two years ago. The government is actually trying to phase out TTY and go to cell phone apps. Unfortunately, because it's flaky on the 3GS, he prefers it on the iPad or laptop. He also has a bluetooth adapter for his hearing aids, but it all only helps so much, and we've been told some of the relay operators are really rude and even if it's subconscious, that reflects really poorly on the individual.

No

I'm blind, he's deaf. Although the doctor has recommended computer glasses (a light prescription and tint) for him.

How often do you have to go get them adjusted?

High tide mark at the beach was lined with mussel shells.
So we spent hours sitting on a mussel smelling beach.

Sorry, no nude people.
That is the Fire Island National Seashore beach. It actually ignores the no dog rule. At least in the off season. But it is over 50 miles away. Doesn't feel like it, since there is a long drive along the ocean, but it is.
Also, never saw anyone there who you would want to see nude.
No, noone, I wasn't nude at the time. If you take the beach walk back from the lighthouse to the parking lot, that is the nude beach.

Between the two of them they have all the senses covered. A friend and I joke that between the two of us we make one person. I'm blind, she's deaf. It works quite well.

On a different note what does PWA stand for?

You aren't the first person that's had issues with that. I guess they can snag when you adjust your glasses (or take them off and on). Most of the older than me members of my Dad's family have that issue... on the plus side when they are tired of talking to you, they just put their thumbs in their ears and turn the volume off. Well their plus, I still get to hear them.

Survived first day of school! I get to check off who gets lunches and milk and this year we are saving money by not having any tickets... yeah that's umm not easy. Luckily most kids bring sack lunches for the first two weeks. Times I really hate dyslexia!!!!

Oh and Ver2 had a wonderful first day of kindergarten. Ver1 was in tears by lunch - really??? I thought school was her happy place and she just 'couldn't wait' for it to start again. I think the issue has been resolved, she's just really sensitive to following directions that don't go where she wants them.

Good morning, lp and everyone else! The sun was very bright yesterday after an overcast morning, it was a nice slow way to wake up. I imagine today will be much the same.

Missed everyone yesterday but it was nice to catch up with friends offline, too.

Chorus:
She's a brick----house
Mighty might just lettin' it all hang out
She's a brick----house
The lady's stacked and that's a fact,
ain't holding nothing back.

She's a brick----house
She's the one, the only one,
who's built like a amazon [pronounced am-a-ka-zawn]
We're together everybody knows,
and here's how the story goes.

1. She knows she got everything
a woman needs to get a man, yeah.
How can she lose with what she use
36-24-36, what a winning hand!

Chorus

2. The clothes she wears, the sexy ways,
make an old man wish for younger days
She knows she's built and knows how to please
Sure enough to knock a man to his knees

Chorus

Bridge

Shake it down, shake it down now (repeat)

those are all the stats i need.
