Well, how do you fare compared to the Zeitgeist? Chat up your fellow wooters and let us know how lame this poll was or what obvious choices we missed. For example: Was this poll a) STUPID, b) DUMB, c) POINTLESS or d) ALL OF THE ABOVE?
My son, the computer whiz.
I feel like this poll is a question of things we'd like to see here... I voted other. I think technology, or in terms of tech.woot I think gizmos. I'd like to see tech.woot have things that I didn't know about and want. Best example I can think of is this, this is a step in the right direction I'd like to see less stuff like Rokus, I think this community sees those too much, throw something fun into the mix!
To qualify as "tech", an item needs to have at least a little bit of a geek factor. A blu-ray player would fall short. A blu-ray player with internet apps would make the cut. An ICS tablet, sure. A Gingerbread tablet, not so much. Even items that fit the other categories if they're geeky enough would work. In fact, it would probably be interesting to have crossover items. A NEST programmable thermostat could appear in tech! and home! the same day. A GPS wristwatch might fit in sport! and tech! the same day.
Anything that has usefull electrons moving in it!
I hate how electronics have taken over the 'tech' word. Tech is short for technology. And I take a pretty verbatim view of 'tech'. Any new technology is really tech. Be it a new cool polymer for a jacket. A new cell phone with an improved screen resolutoin and a higher MP camera is not new 'tech' it is old tech.
Im in the gadgets and gizmos camp.
Technology. The branch of knowledge that deals with the creation and use of technical means and their interrelation with life, society, and the environment, drawing upon such subjects as industrial arts, engineering, applied science, and pure science. In other words, electronics is only a small facet of technology. Making clay pots and stone knives is technology. Low tech.
Nerds...
I sure wouldn't mind if tech.woot became computer.woot
I have to highly disagree with the current poll leader. Stereos and TVs don't really fit Tech. Tech should be gizmos and gadgets. If it were electronics.woot, then stereos and TVs would work, but tech? No.
Virginia Tech! GO HOKIES!
We get enough TV's and stereo things from the main woot! site, I would love to get mostly computer related items. Maybe video game things too, but tech woot! should stay especially Techy.
TEXAS TECH! GUNS UP! RED RAIDERS! RAIDER RED! MASKED RIDER! WRECK'EM TECH! GO TEXAS TECH!!

I'm with this one. The poll got it wrong.
