Shipping kills this deal.

If shipping is anything like the previous LG TVs, then I say be prepared for some delays and read up on the warranty and return policy.

Sorry to poop on your TV deal Woot, but you dun goof'd on the last one.

That being said, I would have preferred this one over the 55" LED I just got.

Reviews on Amazon are good overall. Costs $300-500 more new. LG's New Zealand site has additional information about this model.

What's the problem with shipping? It costs $5.00 as always.

What are the concerns on the warranty and return policy? I read the page and don't see anything out of the ordinary.

If there are any problems with the TV delivery, you can contact service@woot.com for assistance. They'll be glad to help.

This TV has an 90-day LG warranty. Again, if you have any problems getting warranty service in that time, contact service@woot.com and they will help.

UPDATE: I've heard from the buyer that these TVs are being shipped strapped to a pallet which will help protect them from shipping damage.

I trust in Woot to make things right ultimately should things go sideways...however I still want to provide the context behind my earlier comment. Not trolling here, just feeling a little burned over my recent experience.

Why would anyone buy a 60" Plasma TV in 2012, even a 600Hz one. Did you notice this thing weighs 94 lbs? I've yet to see a difference between a 60Hz and a 120Hz TV, I doubt a 600Hz will be clearly better either. And only 3 HDMI ports? This looks like a leftover from a few years ago.

Here is a video from Home Shopping Network. It's a very eager sales pitch. Also, HSN shipped for free.

because it's got better picture quality than an LCD screen? I'm not in the habit of moving my TV, so weight isn't really a concern.

Watching HSN is worse than a root canal while acid is poured into your eyes.

Plasmas have always been 600hz... and it doesn't use screen interpolation like 120hz lcds.

What in the world would one do with more than 3 HDMI ports on a television? Although clearly I'm not the target audience, because I also can't figure out the appeal of a 60" television: watching people on television is the only time that I can pretend I'm not a 7/8th-sized person and I really don't want the people on television to look twice my size: it destroys my cred with the puppies, you know?

Indeed. If you're buying a 55+" television, you should have a suitable receiver/sound system to boot, thus making the number of hdmi ports on your TV a moot point.

I bought this TV new from Dell in January for $100 less than this refurb price. At the time there were only Kiwi/Aussie reviews, along with a few from India. I took a gamble and have not been disappointed. I've been quite happy with it. It does have three HDMI ports (2 rear, 1 side), not two. I've got it paired with an LG Blu-Ray/Home Theater for the "smart" TV functionality. No complaints here. I'd buy it again.

If you bought a TV last time you know what he's talking about. Very disappointed with the shipping. TV's not packed properly, TV delivered upside down, damage to the flat screen. Need I go on........

Plasmas typically have better black levels than LCDs - but LCDs tend to work better in rooms with sunlight (plasmas rule in the dark). Depending on the design either can have better off-center viewing angles, so check specs if that's important.

JMO of course, but if you have a TV this big and don't have a "cinema receiver" you're doing it wrong. The number of HDMI inputs is typical.

You've been put on posting probation for this post

Concerns about the delivery state means I am not going to consider this deal. I want a major purchase to at least be treated as a major purchase by the seller/transit companies.

I agree with this statement fully. I just received my TV from the last LG deal... Shipping was a disaster and took forever... plus the packaging was "scary" to say the least. I was blessed enough to get a TV with no cosmetic damage and in good condition... It is an amazing TV but the customer service and shipping was slow and inadequate. But the product is exceptional. Patience is definitely a virtue here when ordering this big purchase

I have:
1) Cable box
2) Blu-Ray
3) XBox 360
4) Apple TV (better for Netflix streaming than the XBox, and is jailbroken with XBMC installed to play files from my PC)

Of course, I have only three HDMI ports too (on this), so I'm stuck swapping the Apple TV and XBox in and out of the side port... :/

Most discount electronics sites carry a three into one hdmi switch for ten to fifteen bucks. They even come with a remote so you don't have to get off the couch..

Or, better yet, if you need more high-quality HDMI inputs than the TV or your receiver can provide, these devices from Monoprice are fantastic.

You definitely should look for a TV with at least 4 HDMI In ports and an HDMI Out port, even if you use a surround receiver. Reason being, you can connect the devices to the TV and run the HDMI out to the receiver. That way you don't HAVE to have your receiver on to watch TV. I don't particularly need surround to watch news and don't need it on when others are in bed in the house. It saves electric that way.

I used to do that, but then the remote programming is way too complex. For instance, if you're watching TV without the receiver, and they you turn the receiver on using a programmable remote, now you have volume on the TV and on the speakers, but the remote volume button is programmed to control the receiver's volume, not the TV's. After many issues like this, I gave up and just run everything through a receiver.

I kind of have to agree, but it's also like a train wreck... or better yet tthe home run derby. It's really embarrassing how loud they are and the people talking are way too excited about what's going on.

I have to agree, this is no deal. Its not woottastic, not a low low priced item consistent with woot is all about... or WAS all about.

I was about to hit the button since I need a tv... but the feelings of rejection stemming from an inconsistent sales model and fears that wootitcentral will put me 'in line' again only to later forget a 'line' ever existed and start over selling more of them they found under the couch after earlier in the day closing the deal...Nope

Course, after reading the horrors of those who actually got the tv's, I guess my angel was looking out for me.

Anytime I have had a problem woot has been fast to fix it. If I were in the market for a TV I'd rather spend the extra 25 dollars and get it from a reputable seller with 5-star service than Some fly by night, Johnny come lately who has barely been around for 3 months.

I have to know would you really rather buy the deal from a site with no reputation for a 25 dollar savings?

I do agree, not a grand slam deal, but it's still pretty decent.

I have a similar model to this that is about 2 years old and THX certified. Plasma offers a better picture as long as the room is not very bright (home theater room). Here is something that will help you understand the comparisons:

http://asia.cnet.com/led-vs-plasma-vs-lcd-tvs-62213538.htm

Plasma TVs have a 600hz refresh rate. This explains the refresh rate compared to LCD/LED backlit
http://plasmatvbuyingguide.com/hdtv/600Hz-subfield-drive.html

I still think that in a home theater plasma is the way to go. In a brighter room - like a living room LED backlit LCD would be a better choice. If you are into the whole energy consumption LED/LCD win, disposal hazard- kind of a wash. The Plasma may contain more lead (manufacturers are getting better now),LCD panels have more mercury.

I prefer to hook the HDMI direct to the TV and use the optical out from the TV to the receiver. I understand the limitations of optical out concerning the inability to do Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HS Master Audio, but I prefer to have the video signal go direct to the TV HDMI.
