Hmmm...I should put one of these on an actor sometimes for a new perspective on doing a play. The action cameras are always so tempting.

Not that I'm basing my buying decision on if the batteries are included or not... but under "features" it indicates they are not included while under "specs" it says they are.

May be a stupid question but this says it takes up 32GB microSD card. OK, here's the stupid question: Does microSDHC work with this camera or just microSD. Is there a difference between SD and SDHC?

Here is a sample dashcam drive video.

Hmmmmm, I'll send an email to get that fixed tomorrow. Thanks!

Update: Already heard back. We removed them from the specs but there's a possibility they may ship with the product. We don't see them in the picture though so we're gonna play it safe.

This would work as a dashcam for your car as well just in case if some s'more hits your car and tries to blame it on you.

HC stands for High Capacity. All 32GB SD cards are SDHC.

SD cards are not available in that size; they only go as big as 4GB iirc. So SDHC it is.

If this has a CMOS sensor(which it almost certainly does after looking at the video posted) this is definitely something you don't want to mount directly to the handlebars of anything. Due to the scrolling-capture of a CMOS sensor, you will get a very strange wobbly, nausea-inducing effect to your video.

Though it's not very noticeable in the video posted above, you may want to search youtube for "CMOS vs CCD" before buying one of these.

I don't really understand why "action" camera manufacturers continue to use CMOS sensors, vibration makes some of the videos almost unwatchable. Even the GoPro cameras are prone to this. Not "Pro" by any means.

Personal info is personal.

Woot has offered GoPros in the past. Just not today funfortunately. I'd keep an eye out though, they might make an appearance during a future woot or more likely during a wootoff.

Funny, I just got back from a night ride and was thinking about how amusing it might be to mount a camera to my bicycle, since I'm a fool and don't wear a helmet. But I'm thinking the only person vaguely interested in watching my boring journeys--save those near collisions with punks in cars who think it's funny to cut off, throw things at, and yell obscenities to cyclists--should be myself; and well, I was already there.

Micro SD cards go up to 32GB. I just got one for my Liquid Video Goggles that I got from Woot.

That commenter wasn't saying that they don't exist up to that capacity, what he meant was that after 4gb they're not called SD anymore, they're now SDHC (like the one in your link).

I don't get the thechie stuff...I just want to know if it can be mounted to a toddler? What about a large dog?

Too bad it doesn't have the option of being powered by mini usb so you can record the whole 32GB without changing batteries.

Unless someone out can tell me that one set of new batteries will be sufficient for the entire 32gb.

If you want a great POV camera get a gopro. They cost $299. This is 35 bucks, and while you get what you pay for it would be fun to have if you don't want to shell out 300 bucks. Just don't expect it to be a gopro.
I have 2 gopros and love them, use them all the time.

Gopros are not all that people say... I gave mine away to a friend when I revived my contour. Gopro is all advertising, contour is all tech.
I will never buy gopro again

I'd like to be able to buy just the handlebar mount for my still camera. That looks like it might work better and easier than any of the other mounts I've tried. But I'm not paying $35 just to get the mount.

I have the camo version - bought a couple of weeks ago on Woot for $10 more. They are the same camera with different accessories. It does not have stabilization.

If you've got the kit, you can mount in to a child/dog. I mounted it to my backpack to film my walk to work. Final video was pretty bouncy tho.

Your pic shows it mounted vertical, can it be mounted horizontally?

I'll just add this: You will get what you pay for. I recently wooted on the Swann camera, and promptly returned it. If you're looking for the first person awesomeness, in so many more environments, with so much better operation and accessories, just save some money. Keep saving, a little more.. keep going, almost there. Okay, now go buy a Go Pro Hero2. It's worth it, undoubtably. I can't wait to get my first real test in next weekend mountain bike riding.

I'm a little confused on the memory cards as I'm seeing SDHC and MicroSD cards being mentioned here and on Amazon. Does it take the SDHC 'Postage Stamp' sized card, or the Micro SD 'Sneeze and you lose it' sized card that most phones use now?

Micro is just a smaller version, If your Micro card includes an adapter(your small card inside a bigger card), then you can use it. The "HC" on SDHC means it's High Capacity which 32GB is. Unless it specifies it can't then it should be able to use your Micro card with a standard size adapter.

I bought the camo one last week. It is ok for the money, just ok. Sound quality not very good, and indoor videos are orange tinted. Even thought they are only $35, don't think I would spring for another one based on the week of experience I have had with mine.

I concur completely. The quality is about as good as a 90s webcam with a slight fish-eye. Too bad I didn't realize I grabbed crap batteries this morning for my ride to work, and it was an adventure I didn't get to record.
