Interested in making some money? Buy all that they have and sell them for $29.99 to wooters. :P

azrhei wrote:The Best Buy pricing is basically clearance pricing so they can clear out a discontinued product. Not really fair (and I don't know of any retailer that would do this) to ask Woot to price match.

Yeah, but I thought the whole point of Woot is they take discontinued product and stuff that really needs to sell, and they sell it at a rock bottom price. I don't expect them to price match, however for their price to be 150% higher than Best Buy seems ridiculous.

I didn't see the name mentioned on BB in the description, only in the URL. Strange! If they are, then this is an even way better deal. I have RX Gunnars and am on the Computer for hours on end as a web tester. I'm not a gamer but no eye fatigue whatsoever where I used to have such a tired-eye/strain problem is was really nasty.

anyone know how these compare to other gunnar glasses, I assume the quality of the lens makes no difference myself. I bought the "jem" glasses last time and they are uncomfortable. These are so much cheaper though so I'm suspect.

three best buys near me have these at the $20 price if anyone is interested - Kingston, NY, holyoke, MA and hadley, MA. No, I can't go buy them for you, but if you happen to be in any one of those areas..

The Best Buy page claimed Free Shipping but if you click on them they offer store pick-up only. lol That's living up to the Best Buy reputation right there.

None available anywhere around here. For 20 bucks I'd consider it... for 50, no thanks. Nothing personal about Woot's pricing, I wouldn't pay 50 bucks from anywhere. I'm rather unconvinced of their value so far.

I don't play MW3 anyway, though I'm waiting for MWO. (No Relation.)

I can't speak for this particular series but as a grad student who spends nearly all day with my laptop I can tell you that Gunnars greatly reduced my eye strain. The second I put them on I can feel the muscles around my eyes relax. They help filter out artificial light and have a slight magnification property that helps you get a little distance from your screen. When I initially bought them I worried about the "yellowing effect" that others have mentioned; initially you see it but after a few seconds of acclimation you don't even notice. I have the stylus (ultra light) model and literally wear them for hours during a studying bender and I forget they are even there.

I'm prone to insomnia, and the day after I've only slept 2 hours these really do help me look into a monitor for 9 hours.

I got a pair on sale at best buy for $39.99 I took them back 3 weeks later after testing them for that time I had them they did nothing for my eyes at all and when I had them off the picture on the screen looked better so they may work for some people but not for me I think they are a big waist of money there is nothing special about the lenses had the codding I took it to a eye clinic to have the lens tested they are crap

Hans17 wrote:Can anyone who has these or something similar or is knowledgeable about them confirm if they are worth the $50? I still very hesitant even at half price to buy tinted glasses that may or may not have any affect on my gaming experience.

I have a pair at home and a pair at work. I don't find myself using them too often when it comes to gaming, sure they make a difference in the over all visual quality of my HDTV but I don't play for hours on end. The pair I have at work however get used every day. Depending on the day, if I'm stuck in LabVIEW world all day, they really make a difference. No more headaches, no more going for a smoke every 45 minutes to take a break, I can sit and be plugged in for long periods of time, like all day. If you are going to sit and stare at a computer screen for extend periods of time, buy a pair. They are worth the $100 MSRP.

weird, just bought these from BB for $15 with a gift card a few days ago. i used them last night for the first time playing ME3 multiplayer. i am surprised how much i liked them. i let the others playing at my house give them a try and they didnt want to give them back. yeah they are big (so they cover the entire eye area), and they might make you look silly. but i was able to get over it and they ease the strain immediately on your eyes.

Not available at any Best Buy in Maine. Thank god, now I don't have any temptation to buy from there. Last time I bought something from Best Buy online it took three months and nine phone calls to get it to me. Worthless company.

Thanks a ton! I was about to jump on this also. Sorry Woot! Next time.

My local Best Buy had them in stock, I bought them online with $15 in rewards certificates I have and can pick up at the store for $5.44! Man, what a great day! Thanks again!

It doesn't say this on Woot's description, but I pulled this off the manufacturer's website:

"These glasses are coated with a high tech nano-bonding, scratch-resistant polymer that ensures female repellant, guaranteeing many years of precious male virginity."

So, uh, good luck, gamers.

If Woot price matches, I'd buy a pair.

As it is, I like this style better, at the same price:

They APPEAR to be on sale at Best Buy, but if you look closer, they are available only in store (no shipping available); then just try to find a store that ACTUALLY has them. Good luck on that

I placed order thru BestBuy to pick up at the store and went thru. After they charged my CC., I got an email told me to not go pick them up because they didn't have them. Called their 1-888-numbers for nothing. What's a waste of time!!

Picked up the last pair at Best Buy in my city and WOW, these are great! I put them on during the drive home and my eyes instantly felt better. I didn't even notice my eyes were straining until I put them on and my face relaxed. Same for being at home, instantly took the strain off my eyes. I'm a code monkey, can't wait to use them regularly while I work. Thanks woot!
