Well, how do you fare compared to the Zeitgeist? Chat up your fellow wooters and let us know how lame this poll was or what obvious choices we missed. For example: Was this poll a) STUPID, b) DUMB, c) POINTLESS or d) ALL OF THE ABOVE?

Look, I only want the Dr. Who entities if the Doctor is real.

And he's not a robot.

I vote for the Asimov robots, and if not those, the robot in the "adaptation" of "I, Robot" with Will Smith. :D No, I don't want Viki to come with him, but would tolerate her.

For the last time, the Daleks are NOT a robotic entity. They're slimy octopus brain creatures in personalized tanks.

Not a race just one.. Marvin The Paranoid Android.

I'd love to know Marvin is really out there somewhere.. and that he has K-9 as a friend.

So two... just two.

Yeah, the Cybermen were made using human brains, and Daleks are an alien race encapsuled in a robotic shell. The Borg also consist of organic components. Of the ones mentioned that I recognize, the Transformers would be the coolest by far. All the others seem to want to enslave/destroy humanity. I'd like something akin to the robots of those on the movie Bicentenial Man.

Sorry guys, all of these are inferior to The Borg.

They want to improve the quality of life for all living things.

I voted for the Daleks, only because if the Daleks exist, then the Doctor must exist.

Breathe me in, I'm yours to keep.

Why do all of these (at least the ones that I know) want to destroy and enslave all humans as well as take over the Earth?

Transformers have their two (sometimes more) opposing factions, there's no guarantee that the Autobots would always win and their battles always result in mass destruction of our planet.

Why can't we get a helpful robot like Twiki or Alpha V?

Why do people not understand the Borg philosophy?

Being a part of the collective means shedding one's primitive traits, to become a better being.

1) The Borg do not enslave species
2) The Borg assimilate
3) The Borg works, as a collective, toward the betterment of all living species by assimilation and technological advancement
4) The Borg are peaceful, but retaliate against threats
5) The Borg wish to assimilate humanity to create a better, more prosperous universe, a utopia of cooperation, with absence of ignorance and hatred, with endless security and comfort

As "scary" as the Borg may seem, they are not the villain. And one photon torpedo will obliterate those energon-consuming transformer f***s.

I didn't vote, because B-9 wasn't a choice... "It does not compute"

Rosie from the Jetsons, and all her ilk. Hey, just because she's animated doesn't make her less unreal!

Is there any significance that the only two that I have ever heard of are also the two leading vote-getters?

/ didn't vote, felt unqualified

The Borg assimilate individual sentient beings against their will. At the very least this is a civil rights violation.

Why is there no "other" option? Personally, I don't really want to live in a real universe with any of these guys. But as a big sci-fi fan, I am having a difficult time choosing a series to support with my vote.

Why not Marvin from the Hitchhikers Guide to the Universe (Galaxy)

Listening to the voices is calming. Except for Fernado, he pushes my buttons.

I wish Bender (from Futurama) were real. But he'd be completely useless.

No one is completely useless. They can always serve as a bad example.
