Bought one last year. Not worth it at half the price as far as I'm concerned.

I have to give these a positive review, however I could never get the volume control and the on/off switch to work. I usually just plugged them in and got one volume, and if i didn't want to be heard I would just move the mic away from my mouth. Still a good deal though...

I had a cool signature, but then I took an arrow to the knee!

This was probably one of the worst buys I have ever done on a past woot. It looks really cool and comfortable, but is not. I GUARANTEE an hour into wearing this your ear will be throbbing and the side of you head will hurt from too much compression. I ended up going back to my el-cheapo headset and giving this one away.

As for using this with a PC, you're going to spend way more than you want to, so just buy a PC gaming headset. This one's not great, but it's 75% cheaper than this woot

I bought one of these; it sucks. Super uncomfortable, the mic quality is bad and one ear=useless for most games.

Check out the Amazon reviews. I was going to get a couple of these, but will pass.

Mono headsets have been obsolete for 20 years now. That means all the sound is diverted to one speaker. In the case of dual headsets it means you hear the same exact thing out of both speakers. Also, it only has an 8 ft cord. So unless your 5 feet from your Xbox, the cord won't be even close to long enough. You would be better off buying some skull candy headsets than these pieces of junk

You would need a splitter that has the green ans pink pins on one side for the computer and a 2.5mm mono or stereo audio jack on the other. Then it can plug right into the front of your computer in the green headset and pink Mic ports. If you don't care about the Mic though you can just a 2.5mm to 3.5mm mono or stereo adapter

That wasn't a "I'm interested in this, but I need more information."

It was more of a "Don't bother posting opinions without giving some insight."

Overall, this headset isn't too bad. It fits a little tight for me (I have a big head), so extended wear causes a little bit of pain. Other than that, sound quality is comparable to the Microsoft headset. And the boom is much longer, so it sits in front of your mouth and picks up a lot more.

The cord plugs into the controller, (the wireless controller) so as long as you don't have 10ft arms, you cant complain.

I'm guessing it will and that's why I'm in for 2 - It's tough to find a USB monoaural headset that isn't really expensive or REALLY uncomfortable, so I'm going to give it a shot. For ventrilo usage. That's all I'll say.

Ok, I don't know a darn thing about this stuff, so perhaps you guys can help! My son is looking for a headset that will handle both the "chatting" functionalities and game audio. I know that just being plugged in with the 2.5mm to the controller is going to provide chat - does the USB to XBox connection mean it will also do game audio?

Do Not Buy! I bought 3 of these last year, each one was crap! Volume problems, mouthpieces fell off... total disaster! Spend a little money and get a nice pair of Turtle Beaches!

I don't care how Motorola tries to spin it, that is just a telephone headset that happens to also work with an XBox. A "gaming headset" must have full stereo--cover both ears--not just one. Directional sound is actually important to a gamer and the game.

This is not as gaming headset in the sense that it's going to replicate the sound coming out of your speakers, It isn't meant to listen to the game itself, it's meant for talking and chatting via Xbox live. And for that its serviceable.

Look at it as a replacement for the cheapo headset that comes with the Xbox360.

They had these on here a few years ago. I bought 3, due to the low price and gave 2 away to friends. They never used them, but I still use mine. It's an upgrade from the original Xbox headset in comfort (by far) and sound quality. I did have to stretch out the headband a bit though, which was easy enough (just literally stretch it with your hands and hold for a minute or so). I have a big head.

I feel like half the people complaining don't know what this is for. It is a strict upgrade over the basic microphone that is included with the xbox or xbox live bundle purchase. It is not trying to be headphones and play all the audio, it is trying to be a telemarketing style microphone like the basic xbox microphone. This means that it functions like the basic one too. You will hear other people chatting and what not through the one ear, and the rest of your audio is played out of your tv as normal.

This is great for people who don't want to spend $80 for a different microphones and be limited to only hearing audio through that.

Very uncomfortable, doesn't store well, volume is finicky and did I mention that it could very well be the headset equivalent of Steve Martin's Cruel Shoes?

I am an adult gamer and have been on Xbox Live for many years. I would be willing to bet that what your son wants is a pair of Turtle Beach or Tritton headset. The Motorola headset sold here is no different than the free one included with the gaming console. I am happy to assist you with your search as I am a self appointed expert in electronics. I own both brands and have real-world tested them extensively.

If you're looking for a cheap headset, this one has "cheap" written all over it. It's not too bad but after a while of use you need to adjust the connector piece around until you can get sound. Maybe that was just my controller but I would only rate this 2 or 3/5.

If I were you, I would just look around a little bit more for a pair that for sure supports both and isn't too expensive. Not saying you need to buy a fancy pair like everyone else is saying but you should try everything. I don't know much about this stuff either but even if it did work like that it's too much of a hassle to have to stretch a cord across the floor like that.

Bought this headset at Gamestop for 10 bucks not worth it. Not only is it uncomfortable but the jack that plugs into the controller falls out all the time. Also it would come loose so you could still hear others but they cant hear you.

Good quality earphone speaker and microphone. Volume control works well and it's stayed together just fine, electronics and all. It is, however, uncomfortable.

You might think a little discomfort is a non-issue.

But after a half hour of wearing this headset you will feel like your head is very literally being slowly crushed in a vice-grip, and any second your skull will give way to the immense pressure and violently implode.

Maybe this is a feature meant to limit gaming time. If so, it's unquestionably effective.

Build quality is solid for the price, and I've had no malfunctions with mine in the two years I've had it. I just recommend modding it to be more head-friendly. Unless you have an exceptionally large head, in which case, don't even bother.

So, I got my headset today. Actually two of them. Issue number one is my own screw-up and that is that I didn't read the woot page closely enough to see that said it was a USB connection (saw cheap headset ==> 'yes, please'). So the second issue is that as far as I am aware there is no USB headset that will plug and play with the XBOX console (which was confirmed when I tried to use it anyways upon arrival). The issue is clear when you plug it into a PC and it has to install the drivers. So has anybody else gotten theirs yet and figured out that it doesn't work? And also, Woot, why was this labeled as and XBOX 360 headset?

What kind of stupid scam is this WOOT? You advertise this thing for XBOX 360 and it doesn't even have an adapter on it that works for the 360. I bought two of these stupid things and I can't even use them for my XBOX. You should get your information on your products right before you rip off your customers.

So here is the deal...you have to go to radio shack or altex to buy the mini jacks (male to male)...they have to be small enough to fit inside of the headphone...I have several but all are too big...Description should have read "Motorola USB Gaming Headset, will work with Xbox 360 after you jump through a bunch of hoops spend more money"...thanks Woot!
