Samsung makes a great product and this system sales for much more elsewhere.

The last Samsung laptop I bought had UEFI on it. The UEFI is broken - it works with Windows, but nothing else. If you are a Linux user, be prepared to do some painful hacking to get it to work with both Linux and Windows.

It's worth noting that I contacted Samsung on several occasions about this, and they were not willing to fix their firmware bugs.

I'm just this guy... ya know?

Before anyone asks... this will play wow on low -med settings. It plays diablo 3 on low. Orcs must die, torchlight, modern warfare, all on low. Limbo, and any older couple year old or console port games with no pc optimization like dark souls or splinter cell. ;) have fun... but dont break the bank.

Do not expect: crysis 2, max payne 3, battlefied 3, and other high performance pc optimized games. These will just simply be slideshows.

Trust me I have the same specs.

Samsung makes great devices, no doubt about that

I have no opinion about this particular laptop, but has anyone noticed the different keyboard layouts now? My last few have had the arrow keys on the right edge, and 'delete' in the top right corner. This makes it easy to play games and type. Many of the new ones seem to add keys on the right, and I've seen a few with really small arrow keys. Just sayin'...

Darn, just ordered a Dell laptop from Costco yesterday afternoon and now this pops up. They are pretty much in the same price range, looks like the Samsung's graphics is better but Costco has the 2nd year warranty and a 90 day return.
I'm interested in what you think,I still have time to cancel.

The processor on the Costco machine is a LOT better. That's the biggest difference I see. Check out Passmark CPU benchmarks; the Costco CPU is #1 in its class (high-midrange) while the Woot CPU is...well, it's far from the top. Other than that, not many differences. The Woot video card is very slightly better. (Check out Passmark GPU benchmarks, it's 427 vs 412). The Costco machine has two USB 3.0 ports, while the Woot machine does not.

Costco seems like a better deal, especially with a cheaper price and the Costco warranty behind it.

I bought Three of these from Woot back in June.

The first one was DOA, right out of the box. Bad Hard Drive, Clunk, Clunk, Clunk.

The other two were 100%.

The one Samsung required returning to for repair, even though I am capable of replacing the drive.

It took them NINE WEEKS to return it to me. I just got it back last week.

NINE WEEKS to replace a hard drive.

NINE WEEKS !

REGODDAMNEDICULOUS !!!

Samsung hard drives SUCK.

Really NICE LAPTOP,

Really BAD Hard drives.

Too bad they don't use Hitachi Drives.

To be perfectly honest, I'm holding out for USB/SATA 3.0/3.0. Gotta think of the future.

I received a Visa check card as an award from my company that won't cover the total cost. I wanted to split the cost between the Visa check card and my credit card. Does anyone know if that's possible?

Thanks for the feedback.I actually had looked up the rating on the Samsung video card but somehow I must have looked at the wrong rating, now I see your number is correct so thanks again for that as well.

Ok. Thanks. That's a shortcoming shared by most ecommerce sites, so it's not a shocker. Maybe I can just load value on the gift check card and therefore only use one form of payment.

Not terrible for the price but AMD has really got to give their APUs some more juice. I look forward to the day that I can get the equivalent of a 3GHz quad with true midrange graphics capability...maybe in a couple more design cycles.

The Dell has a better processor (as someone already mentioned), but Dell's are total crap in my opinion. I got my first 4 years ago and have had 2 more since (replaced twice under warranty with a newer laptop). Thankfully I shelled out the ridiculous amount for the extended warranty or I would have been screwed. These were all the very top of the line laptops when I got them, and every single one has had serious problems.

This is a good deal when you consider it's $488.88 on Amazon plus shipping of $8. http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Series-NP305V5A-A09US-15-6-Inch-Laptop/dp/B006KYY0TC

Or $450 + shipping from AMD direct

I really haven't had many problems with Dell computers. Have worked on A LOT of them. A bad power supply here and there, but those were mostly the small form factor optiplexes where they had issues with those particular power supplies. I have a few older optiplexes myself and a few lattitudes. (older specs but they run fine) And I have a Dell mini that I bought off someone and after re installing windows it runs great. The one thing I really like about Dell is that if you have the OS re install disc, it will work with any Dell. (that had that OS installed, of course) Easy.

Oh, and their servers have always been good to me too. Who knows, maybe I've just been lucky- but for as many as I've worked with, they seem to be above average, especially in longevity.

I bought this today to replace my old macbook. Coming back to PC finally, but I have a question.

I've never been a big fan of the trackpads on most PC laptops, anyone know how this one compares to the multi-touch trackpads on macbooks?
