Well, how do you fare compared to the Zeitgeist? Chat up your fellow wooters and let us know how lame this poll was or what obvious choices we missed. For example: Was this poll a) STUPID, b) DUMB, c) POINTLESS or d) ALL OF THE ABOVE?

None of the above. But if woot wants to offer me one for under $100, I'll probably buy it.

I am with the "who put you up to this" considering woot's sugar daddy announced a sweet new kindle today....so obvious, woot! And here I am, tumbling right into the rabbit hole. I already placed a preorder (before I saw this poll...)

Am I the only one who feels the argument between e-readers and actual paper media is pointless? Maybe it's because most of the people I know who say paper is better are the same people who download music. Maybe it's because I've had a few glasses of scotch.

I use both paper and Kindle. The Kindle Fire is not as good as the original Kindles for reading books, from what I've heard - the e-ink on the original Kindles is very crisp and very much like print. I want a Kindle Fire, and when I get one, I will look at the reader interface on it and unless it looks as clear to me as my current Kindle, I will be using both.

The Kindle Fire is not a Kindle replacement. It's a tablet like any other, just tied into the Amazon ecosystem. I'm not saying reading on it is bad, but it's not the same. My wife has a Fire, and I read on it occasionally, but I'd rather read on a regular kindle (if I don't have a paper book to read). Seriously considering getting the new Kindle PaperWhite.

No Kindle (sorry Woot/Amazon), but we do have 4 other e-readers of various vintage - my wife is/was something of an early adopter for these devices. However, we love our paper books, too!

I own a Kindle Fire and in retrospect, I now wish I had one of the less expensive Kindles. I prefer the reading experience on my wife's Kindle 3. I find the Fire is just too heavy to read for extended periods.

Perhaps contrary to what you might think, I still prefer real books whenever I travel. (since it is obviously easier to lug lots of reading material electronically) However, I would rather have a couple of used paperbacks, that if they get wet, damaged or somebody absconds with them, I won't give it a second thought.

Rather annoyed that a new Kindle (not Fire) comes out just after the return period ends for my new one.

<--- Yes, that's a hipster tiger.

One stock Nook Simple Touch, one rooted Nook Color. All those free ebooks made it worth having an e-reader, and, well, I wanted a cheap-but-decent Android tablet. I do still like deadtree books too though.

Kindle Keyboard wifi
Kindle Keyboard 3g/wifi
Kindle Fire
Entourage PocketEdge DualBook with both Kindle and Nook apps installed
VeloCity Micro R102 e-reader (Borders leftovers, rooted) with both Kindle and Nook apps installed

Every computer - laptop, desktop, netbook - in the house has both Kindle and Nook apps installed.

And we still buy paper books, too...

Forgot one option. I do own one, but its a Kindle Fire, and I don't use it for reading much. Mainly Hulu/Netflix or tablet type things.

I have one and I hate it!!!! I got one for Christmas, a Kindle Fire. It's the worst excuse for a tablet EVER!!!! Just put the Kindle or iBooks app on your tablet and you've for yourself a free eBook that also functions as a tablet. The color screen eBooks like Nook and Kindle Fire are absolutely pathetic. Terrible RAM, terrible memory, terrible speakers, terrible streaming! They're awful!!!! I used mine for a then sold it on eBay.
