Does anyone know if this charges in pairs or has individual charging banks for each slot?

I got one of these on woot before. The batteries if not constantly in the charger plugged in seem to rapidly lose their charge. I'll charge all the batteries to full, un plug it, go to use the batteries a few days later to find them significantly drained without being used.

Research from around the web suggests that they are 2000 mAH.

One thing to keep in mind with these. They are rechargeable alkalines, not NiMH, so if you want to use them in high drain devices, you'll probably be disappointed. But stick 'em in your remotes, clocks, etc..., you should find that they are more than adequate. Plus the charger charges both alkalines and NiMH. And if you're anything like my household, you always have a dead set of rechargeables coming out of something.

In reality, these are almost 45% off than just 20%. That figure Woot uses for the 20% is compared to the 'base' configured set which only includes 4AA & 4AAA, with charger from the manufacturer website.

Woot's deal includes an extra 8AA. That retails alone for $12.99. So the same for same comparison would cost you 37.98, contrasted to 19.99 here.

Bought these on a woot-off a while back, charger and 8 batteries - haven't had a problem with these at all. I would recommend.

I got some of these in a past woot. As others have commented the charger is good but the batteries quickly lose their charge. I have them in some LED candles, regular batteries last three months, these rechargeable s lasted one week or less. Do not recommend.

Most LED candles I have bought specifically state not to use rechargeable batteries.

I purchased these quite a while ago and was not impressed with how long they power devices....pass

I have several sets of these that I purchased specifically to power my kids various toys. Based on my experience of over a year of use, they don't last long in high drain devices (Wii controllers) but will last a long time (weeks) in things like the controllers for R/C helis.

For what it's worth I bought several sets of the iGo batteries with charger last time it was on woot, and have regretted it since. The batteries don't hold a charge worth a crap and the charger blinks oddly, never lets you know when it's done charging, etc. More of a hassle than they're worth in my opinion.

Caveat: The ones I ordered didn't have the screen I see in the pictures for this unit, but honestly after seeing the crappy battery performance and ultra-cheap materials etc. of the ones I bought I see that screen and just think it's something else to break and not work well.

I bought a 4 position iGo charger + AA from woot awhile back and now I'm hooked. Can't imagine life without so I ordered this in case the original breaks.

I like that each battery position is independent of the others, assume same for this one since it does say "any combination".

I like that it's a slow charge -- batteries are of no use to me when the charger has cooked them to death.

Charging of NiMH is what matters most to me. I like that this deal includes some AAA, not previously included. Not much impressed with rechargeable Alkaline batteries, they are what they are, they do work for a lot of applications though.

I tried recharging non-rechargeable alkaline batteries with the iGo charger, it worked, then about 2 days later they leaked. Yuk. I had tried some in a different charger years ago, after a few days they exploded, so at least it's getting better.

You gotta be crazy to go with anything other than Eneloop rechargables...unless you like changing and charging your batteries a lot.

I have the four-slot version of this charger, and it charges batteries individually. Quite handy, considering all of my other chargers insist on charging in pairs.

I also bought these on Woot a few months ago and half of the batteries leaked all over my stuff they were plugged into. I would definately not recommend these.

Sorry Woot, $25.00 for a battery charger after shipping really isn't a good deal. You can do better getting higher quality batteries from Meritline.com and sticking them in a cheap Everyready charger from WallyWorld than comes with a few decent batteries to start.

These are pretty good in for 3...

I bought the 4 position deal before, charger is great, doesn't cook the batteries. Haven't had any issues with using these.

Think most that are down on these chargers and batteries, didn't bother to read the instructions. When the batteries are done charging, you need to remove them from the charger, not simply un plug it. You don't want to completely drain them, you know, wait until your device no longer functions, before charging.

The batteries that come with the charger haven't leaked or failed, yet. I've recharged a lot of regular alkaline batteries as well, but after 4-5 times, they start to fail, some will leak (Duracell). Thin the IGO batteries are better sealed, and slightly different chemestry. Still, huge savings on batteries.

These work fine in everything, and last longer than most NiMH I use.

I got three this time, because the charger works off a walwart, so thinking solar panel.

You'll have to make your own decisions about whether this is worth your money. That said, as stated above I bought the 4-unit charger and some batteries during a previous Woot. That charger works with both chemistries, charges each battery slot individually, has a fold-in plug, and is dual-voltage. Overall a good deal- to me.
This charger appears to have the same features, plus an LCD display and larger capacity. I'm happy with my device; if you're looking for serious charging capability you may be happy with it.
I concur that the included batteries don't last long in high-drain devices, but are well suited for long-term use in low-drain devices like remotes.

Yeah, the batteries drain pretty fast...but I think they're alright for small things. I use mine in Wii remotes. I have to change the batteries every few days, but it beats buying new ones.

I WILL say that if these batteries lasted longer, I would be all over this deal...but since they don't, my four-pack is fine.

Thanks to my illustrious Woot colleagues, I have decided to give this my most enthusiastic rating of PASS! Next WOOT off item please. How about that Kodak AA / AAA battery deal again. I missed out on the AAAs.

I have had 2 batteries (so far) leak while being charged....glad I'm not the only one. I am waiting for the others to leak now.

I was so impressed with these batteries when I first got them. They held a charge longer than my other standard rechargable batteries. However, what initially lasted 2 days of steady use now only lasts 6 hours of steady use. Not buying these again. So dissappointing.

Rechargeable alkaline cells are failed technology. Flopped 10 years ago and a few companies still try to hawk them. Buy decent brand NiMh cells and get on with your life.

acpress.com Not cute, but useful.

These are great, especially if you have kiddos with toys. These have saved us a lot of money in the long run and would recommend them for anything that is slow draining - remotes, clocks, kids toys that make annoying noises. We use them in our Daughter's Leap Pad and she played with it on a road trip without us ever having to replace the batteries.

I got the AA charger in a previous woot, wanting AAA but failing my reading comprehension. Now that one lives at work for things like wireless mice, and for having a ready rotating supply it works just fine.

I've gotten these batteries before, but with a 4-battery charger that had single LED indicators. The charger itself is fairly good.

Since (as I have been told) rechargeable alkalines like to be kept continually charged, I use them for things that sit in chargers - cordless telephone handsets, wii remotes, etc.

No, NOT as good as NiMH or Eneloop, but way cheaper.

Generally speaking, rechargeables, even with plenty of amp-hours, put out less volts. LED's have a minimum voltage that they must have to turn on, so its perfectly conceivable that a fully charged rechargeable might not be able to turn on an LED, while a half-charged throwaway battery would.

Yeah, don't ever do this. A lot of cells are tested to make sure they don't actually explode under these conditions, but there's an actual chemical difference between rechargable and nonrechargable batteries, even if they both say Alkaline. Forcing a voltage into a nonrechargable cell is only doing catastrophic damage to it, and could cause a fire or worse.

I bought this with just the AA batteries a little while back and would definetly buy again especially with the AAA included. I know these are not as "strong" (???) of a battery as other rechargeables but we have been using these for remotes and have had very good results. It is nice to have an extra charger around as well. Just remember to use them only in low drain items like remotes and clock backups. They are not the right battery for video game controllers and cameras.
Highly reccomend

These rechargeable batteries have to be some of the worst I have ever purchased. I bought these from Woot some time ago because they had a higher voltage than the NiMH rechargeables. I used them in several devices and they worked fantastic the first charge. After the first drain I charged the batteries and they either didn't charge up very well or drained ridiculously fast afterwards. I actually started throwing these batteries away after only a couple uses because my devices would run out of power unexpectedly and that angered me. They weren't worth keeping them around. I will stick with my Eneloops. They don't have the 1.5 voltage (1.2 only) but work amazingly otherwise.

I am absolutely sick of seeing batteries on Woot!. I come here every day hoping to throw my money at someone, and instead am greeted with batteries.

Nothing in my home uses replaceable batteries. I will never buy batteries from Woot! because I not only have no need for them, but a thirty second drive to my nearest gas station will suffice if I ever need to acquire batteries.
