I have had none...we are buying more for our guest bathroom and guest rooms downstairs. We paid $299 per light, then another $119 for the transmitter. We love them at that cost, this is a True bonus that we will not pass up..

Overall this price is not that bad. i have been replacing my incandescent 65 watt bulbs in my 6" cans with LEDs. The LEDs are 65 watt replacements that use about 10 watts. These cost between $26 and $35 dollars depending on sales. I love the LED(cree from HD) lights. The color is perfect and the cost savings is huge. I also have a pair of wireless speakers that cost me $150. Now I can get two lights and more wireless speakers. I am very tempted but wish I could go somewhere and hear them Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum!

Did anyone find an authoritative answer to this question? Even a lot of CFLs end up having drastically shorted lifetimes if used in a bathroom or other high-humidity area and these would seem to be much more electronically complex and necessarily somewhat "open" to let the sound out.

I guess it does list bathrooms as a suggested application so if it did die within a year from humidity it should presumably be covered under warranty.

Anyone know the best way to end up with multiple transmitters? I was bummed to see you had to specify whether you wanted Apple 15 pin or more traditional audio out. I would definitely use BOTH.

Way too expensive. Would consider them for about $50.

Thank you Erik. Now, get a life! Do you know how many Woot Time Wasting videos you could have viewed during the time you wasted driving to the Woot offices? Priorities my boy, priorities.

I wonder if these would work in the bathroom? Are they at all water/moisture/humidity resistant?

That's what I was thinking. Anyone know for sure?

I don't know who thought these up, but they should be drug tested.

Still single, can't imagine why.

Does anyone know if the unit stays sync'd if the music isn't playing constantly? I would like to replace my porch light with one of these for Halloween and surprise the trick or treaters with scary sounds activated by remote. If it takes more than half a second to resync I won't get the perfect scare

Get the Universal 3.5mm transmitter then. I wonder if there's any difference in functionality between the 3?

A couple thoughts about these:

1. As others have pointed out, for this price, I would really hope the LEDs can be replaced. Anyone have more info on this?

2. What about the effects of vibration on one's light sockets? I have a rental home that was built over 60 years ago. I would imagine that, like many other things I am trying to fix up around the place, the light sockets are not fastened down nearly as tight as they once were. What kind of rattling is possible with the these things?

I do really like the idea of putting these in the bathroom, assuming they can be in a high humidity environment (I would guess the manufacturer is explicit in recommending against this).

For those of use without recessed cans, any thoughts/experience with installing these in in other light fixtures? I'm not concerned whether they would fit, rather how does the light cast/illuminate the room? Are these basically spot/flood lights?

If I remember correctly, Giinii either manufacturers for Sylvania or licenses the name. This product everyone is looking at is a rebadged and branded Giinii Aubiobulb:

Please see reviews on Amazon to get a better idea of the pros and cons.

Giinnii makes some really odd products. It's all stuff you would see in Skymall but never really buy.

It would only take one unintentional broadcast of pr0n throughout the house to regret the installation of these.

I found conflicting answers on the Lowes question and answer site posted earlier: http://answers.lowes.com/answers/0534/product/3472607/questions.htm?sort=recentq

QUESTION
Safe for a bathroom?
Posted by Jay - Missouri, USA

Answers
1. I think the manual states that it should be used in a dry environment. If you aren't steaming up the bathroom, it would probably be okay... depends on the size of your bathroom and the ventilation.

2. Yes, it is safe to use in bathrooms and kitchens as it is moisture resistant.

Anyone know how they compare to these:
http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/product.asp?sku=40633428

Looks like the same concept, but no remote and just a 3.5mm tranmitter. I have had bad luck with IR remotes on a multi-color party light bulb before so I don't know that I would trust the remote anyway. And it is $80 cheaper.

Can these be screwed in to a lamp? Does the answer change if it's a switched lamp (controlled by a wall light switch?

Don't throw tomatoes if the answer is easy to find. I read the easy install guide and a few comments elsewhere, but didn't see the answer.

As long as it fits it can be installed in any light socket.

My first thought was as rear speakers since I have a couple well located can lights, but doesn't sound like they're really intended for that sort of hookup. Still a pretty neat idea.

Signature oh signature, cannot think of something clever...

I got mine today, they work pretty well, though I was a bit dismayed to find out they didn't fit in our recessed light fixtures. The base of these is really wide, whereas my lights have a fairly narrow opening to where you screw them in. So I guess I need to replace the can where I wanted to put this. In the meantime, it's in a floor lamp where it still works pretty well, though not really the best place for a bulb of this type.

I received mine yesterday, Saturday, and also had a problem with mounting in the original cans. What was going to be a 2 minute job had the potential to be a longer job having to install different cans.

After checking the MusicLite website discovered a faster and easier solution, which was adding light socket extenders from Home Depot - cost less than $3 and a simple fix.

Overall I'm very impressed, wasn't expecting HiFi but got a great solution for background music that solved the problem by not having to run wires through ceiling/floor joists.

Thanks for the tip! I shall go find those light socket extenders too!!!

Having airplay devices in the home , would this solution also work attached to an iPhone or iPad while playing thru an AirPlay speaker.. if so would there be any sync issues? This would be a great easy cheap way to get music in a couple of hallways..

Thanks
