This is a great price! These are great for powering LEDs. I usually snag them from the recycling bin at Best Buy, but this one actually ha a decent power output meaning you can power a couple dozen high power strips and it's a pretty white.

Pretty good review at http://www.clunk.org.uk/reviews/innergie-mcube-plus-95w-universal-adapter-review.html
Appears to be very good at this price and maybe better than iGo's I have bought.

A good review on this item I found on Google.

One of these universal adapters came in handy the other day when a friend came by with a busted laptop power brick. A replacement was ~$80 online, and I had a previous $20 woot universal adapter to give her. That one was refurbished and didn't have built in USB ports.

Count me in on this woot.

jmzombro beat me to the review link. :-)

Hmm, it's white so does that mean it's iPod compatible?

iPad compatible: NO
iPod and iPhone compatible: YES
Wish the USB ports were 10v for my iPad

See, see, the irony:

A wish that a product (which is designed with compatibility in mind) were more compatible with another product, even though that other product appears to have been designed with incompatibility in mind...

Granted, auto-sensing voltage for USB would be cool. At the same, though, time I can't help but smirk ;-)

10V? Trying to fry your pad? You mean 1 amp, which is the max power transfer from USB3. USB2's spec limit is 0.5 amp.

This charger can do 1 amp @ 5V.

quality posts: 2 Private Messages idealreptiles

Most computer USB ports only deliver 500mA max, which is way bellow the 2.1A required by an iPad. That would take 8+ hours to charge the original ipad at that rate. The latest ipad's battery is double the capacity.
The iPad needs more than this can put out, which sucks because a device will only take what it needs so increasing the amperage to the USB port would not have been an issue, but an added benefit.
Still got one as I am not simply looking for another iPad charger, just thought it would have been nice to have an extra high power USB port if needed.
And yes, I am a Mac.

I read somewhere that a USB port can supply up to 1.8A to some devices...

I get the fact that the different plugs provided fit a variety of laptops, but do all laptops use 19.5V? Even if I find the right plug to fit, how do I know that's the right voltage for a given device?

Easiest way that I have found is to look at your current laptop's charger. Looks as if this is compatible with most laptops.

Speaking of compatibility, is this compatible with the Asus 1201N Netbook? the voltage/amperage looks to be spot on, however the tip is a very very small tip, and I can't tell from the pictures if any of the 2 tips (for Asus) will fit.

Here before the WootBot was.

Use the compatibility checker on the company website mentioned in one of the other posts. It looks like this works in a similar fashion to the iGo chargers. The tip regulates the power for a given device. If you device is supported it will tell you which tip is compatible. It looks like most popular brands are supported.

Many thanks for the link!!!
(Quality Post anyone...anyone?)

Unfortunately my quest to find a longer replacement for the incredibly short power cord on my Acer Iconia A500 must continue:

"TIP L - Special tip; not included in standard package"

Don't give up on this! I too require TIP L for my ASUS EP121. But to get that tip, all you have to do is contact Innergie via E-mail or their "support" link (I've heard they have a better response through the "support" link). They will send you the required tip after you provide them with shipping info and the serial number from the charger.

I've been looking to buy this adapter for a while and have read about them shipping out special tips to customers through another forum. If you need a tip that is not included, just contact them and you'll get it. Not sure if there is extra cost involved. I don't think there is.

i got a fairly nice hp pavilion dv6 laptop last year. it was the display model so it was cheaper. i just recently found out that the charger they gave me was the low efficiency "travel charger". 65w. which means my computer refuses to run at 100% capacity, as it tells me. the charger and the computer itself gets hot during gaming. i ALMOST bought a 90w from hp themselves the other day for 70. was gonna hold off until i got my paycheck today. and here we are. i'm in. hope it works.

According to their web site (http://www.myinnergie.com/Compatibility/CheckTip.aspx?PID=10), yes it is compatible with your Asus netbook.

You can buy an extension cord for $2. I have both an Acer A500 and a Asus transformer and they both have short cords- I have no idea what the thinking is on this. I bought a cheap elocity 7" tablet, and it at least gives you 6 feet of cable. Extension cords are't pretty, but they are cheap.

Pretty sure he meant 10w (watts) or
2 amps @ 5v which is what the OE iPad charger outputs.

Watts = Amps x Volts
or
Amps = Watts / Volts
or
Volts = Watts / Amps

This will work for an iPad, just very slowly and if you get the "not charging" msg. on the iPad when plugged in you might need one of these:

It's NOT just iPad, my Asus Android tablet won't charge from "regular" USB 2.0 either..

(unless you consider turning it off and plugging it in for 3 days "charging")

That's what I do at home but it adds bulk when traveling. If this adapter had a decent length of cord and could charge my laptop or Iconia, plus other USB devices, that would be quite the win.

Go to www.myinnergie.com and check out their compatibility tool. This will tell you if the adapter works with your adapter AND what tip fits with it. If there is a tip that is not in the bag, they will send you the tip FREE of charge!

Tips are FREE of charge! No cost for tip. No cost for shipping. If you get another laptop, we'll send you a replacement tip for free, too.. FOR LIFE! Innergie just rolls like that.

If you are considering buying this for a laptop then I suggest saving your money.

There is some appeal in having a universal setup, but when repairing computers I have found nearly every single laptop power adapter I needed on eBay for under $10 and in many cases under $6 with shipping from inside the United States (not China).

Those extra tips, which are bound to get lost in travel, are not enough to convince me to spend 3 or even 5 times as much cash.

HTC Flyer tablet wants a bit over 9v to charge at normal rate so USB is a slow go also.

What is the output of the OE wall-wart for your Asus tablet?
