But even though I do my monthly back up's, I fear it's not enough.
I've heard if you do a standard Windows 7 back up, it makes a copy that can only be put back onto an identical system, point being, you couldn't put it on a larger new drive. (said the tech support who replaced hard drives in my GF's college supplied/maintained laptop)

If my NAS was working, it would've been in the last 15 minutes... as it is, it's over a month ago ;-(

With a Mac running time machine, my computer backs up every hour.

I only back it up on the dance floor!

Does the SSD Flash work with Windows to Go?

Prices look high to me. SSD should be somewhere around $0.65-0.80/GB. Even with a USB 3.0 case this isn't much of a deal. Similar thoughts on the external hard drives too.

Would this work for Windows-based PC as well? Or MAC specific only?

I assume you're asking about the one that stacks with Mac Minis? Sure, it'll work with Windows (conveniently, even, as it has USB in addition to firewire 800). You'll just need to reformat it.

Why are the 1 TB models sold out when the 2 TB one is still available for a few bucks more?

The Iomega SSD's have really bad reviews on Amazon.
It seems the usb connector isn't very sturdy and breaks off.

Generally, I never backup my home computer. I might make a backup copy of my resume. I can download my Steam games. Beyond that, nothing is vitally important. Sure, it would suck if I lose it...but really, I if I haven't used in the past year, I probably won't miss it.

My MiniMax just arrived. Have not tested it out yet (have a ton of Iomega already so usually like their stuff) BUT...

... was a bit shocked to open the sealed (slightly banged up) box and found a huge human HAIR. Pretty disgusting!

Fingers crossed will be in perfect working order - have to call Iomega about a few other things and will just bring this up!
