The most I've had at one time was about 130....that started to cause me some issues. I recently got dual boot with a custom jelly bean ROM though, so I had to start afresh. Probably my most used app is Reddit Is Fun.
My phone is just a phone but the iTouch has 60 apps on it with Musice, FourSquare and DrawSomething used the most by me and weather and all the games used the most by the kids.
I don't have a smart phone but my tablet has around 20ish. I just got it so I'm sure it'll fill up fast. @_@
